Developing Ideational Fluency

Developing Ideational fluency comes in many forms explicitly mind mapping, Brain Storming and Classification. These methods will not necessarily be of a high standard but will be in a large quantity and be diverse. They will permit the Practitioner to produce Ideas that relate to the subject or theme chosen.

Mind mapping is an organized step by step process to organize thoughts in a rational way relating one topic with another. This method is an effective technique to develop Ideational Fluency.  Mind mapping is a great way to get new ideas, a great source of Ideas to refer back to. It can continue to grow as the idea is thought more about and a mind map will hold no boundaries gathering vast amount of ideas on its way. Mind Mapping can improve your recall skills allowing memory to develop.

Example of Mind Mapping

From My RVJ - Mind Mapping Magazine Assignment

This is an example of my mind mapping. For an online magazine assignment recommending unique and pleasant eating venues in Birmingham, I Identified the main areas of importance and produced areas to be researched and used for the final choices.

Example of Mind Mapping

Brainstorming is very effective to develop Ideational Fluency, efforts are made to find a conclusion for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously. The random style does not follow a specific order but cases the Spontaneity.

Managing a creative environment

Creativity is much more than an internal thinking process.  Where you sit and have you first thoughts and ideas on a subject, your work environment that is stimulating and oozing ideas. Your likes, passions, favourite colours, music, books, magazines and photos surrounding you and providing a place where you create as a practitioner. A place where you can open your mind wider than you have done previously.  To extract and develop your ideas, implementing them to a final production. Utilising culture and space to produce current and future productions.

Karnardo

An example of an inspiring creative environment is a design company called Kanardo, based in France providing Photographic and Graphic solutions.

My Workspace

My Creative Environment is full of inspirations. Magazines books files, images, photographs. Light and bright with a good sized window south facing to capture the natural light, a moderate size desk with tools to assist in my creativity along with lots of books.
